Rachel Fisher of Three Oaks Farm

Rachel Fisher is the awesome owner of Three Oaks Farm, an organic 6 acre mixed vegetable and fruit farm just 30 minutes from Victoria (Vancouver Island) by bus. Days here are busy, diverse and extremely satisfying including everything from harvesting gorgeous greens, heirloom beets and white carrots to making soil blocks for seedlings, trellising tomatoes in the greenhouse and helping set up the irrigation system.

Rachel also appreciates the help of anyone with carpentry skills for numerous farm infrastructure projects including building outdoor showers and tree forts. She sells her produce at the thriving Moss Street Market and is also joint owner of Saanich Organics a Vegetable Box Delivery Program and restaurant supplier so there will opportunities to learn about different styles of marketing too.

Rachel has a young family so no smokers or rabble-rousers please, but anyone with a positive outlook, and self motivated disposition will have a wonderful time here. If this isn’t enough, you will also eat like a king with anything in the garden up for grabs (except for the giant onions, hands off!).
